5.0-magnitude felt in Mediterranean, Israel

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was felt at 5:35 am on Friday in the Mediterranean Sea.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported the earthquake occurred west of Israel's shores, approximately 120 miles northwest of the Egyptian city of Port Said, near the Suez Canal. (Ynet)

A sign pointing to a women-only sidewalk still exists on the corner of Jerusalem's Haneviim and Mea Shearim streets, despite a recent victory in the legal battle against gender segregation on the capital's streets.
The sign was placed in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Mea Shearim about a year ago, when residents decided that one sidewalk along the street would be restricted for men and the other for women, according to a demand made by the Committee for Purity in the Camp (also known as the "chastity squad").
The segregation was also implemented on side streets, using private security guards and signs placed on the neighborhood streets.
After a long legal battle, which included a petition filed by Jerusalem Council Member Rachel Azaria, the High Court of Justice ruled that there would be no segregation this year. The sign, however, still stands.
Council Member Shlomo Rosenstein, who holds the municipal inspection portfolio and is in charge of removing illegal signs, said in response: "It is simply a sign that someone forgot to remove. In practice, there is no segregation whatsoever."

Arvoisa pääministeri!
Puhuitte 9.11.2011 klo 20.30 YLE TV1:n pääuutislähetyksessä. Ohessa suora lainaus puheestanne:

"...Nyt kun me olemme sitoutuneet velkasuhteen kääntämiseen laskuun, niin se ei Pyhällä Hengellä toteudu..."
Voi olla, että haluaisitte kuitata asian 'sammakkona', mutta tässä tapauksessa se ei ole mahdollista. Kokoomus puolueena on aina kuuluttanut arvoja Koti, Uskonto ja Isänmaa. Kaikkien noita arvoja puolustavien tulisi tietää, että Pyhän Hengen pilkasta ei hyvä seuraa. Kaiken lisäksi tässä ei ole kysymys vain omasta asiastanne vaan myös kansakuntamme tulevasta, roolinne huomioiden.
Minä katson velvollisuudekseni, ensin ilman kansalaisadresseja tms., pyytää teitä reilusti pyytämään lausumaanne anteeksi, vähintäänkin omilla ja puolueenne kotisivuilla, mieluummin sen lisäksi jossain seuraavista julkisista esiintymisistännekin.
Asiasta mielensä pahoittaneita ja huolestuneita on paljon, joten toivonkin että astutte esiin reilusti kuin suomalainen mies Kokoomuksesta (!) ja hoidatte tältä osin myös oman omantuntonne puhtaaksi.
