Keskustan varapuheenjohtaja Juha Rehula hyökkää kovin sanoin hallituksen ajamaa kuntamallia vastaan.

Julkisuuteen lähettämässä tiedotteessaan Rehula katsoo pääministeri Jyrki Kataisen (kok.) erkaantuvan ”huolestuttavalla tahdilla todellisuudesta”.

– Nyt Katainen on ryhtynyt piirtelemään harpilla ympyröitä maakuntakeskusten ympärille ja laskemaan, kuinka paljon pikkukuntien hallintoa ympyrän sisään mahtuu, Rehula sanoo.

– Jos Katainen haluaa piirrellä harpilla ympyröitä, suosittelen häntä menemään esimerkiksi Helsingin Senaatintorille, Tampereen Keskustorille tai Turun kauppatorille. Katainen voisi laskea, kuinka paljon pelkästään näiden kokoomusjohtoisten kaupunkien sisään mahtuu hallintoa ja sinipuna-akselilla jaettuja kovapalkkaisia virkoja, hän jatkaa.

Rehula myöntää kuntien ja palvelujen uudistustarpeen, mutta vastaukseksi hän esittää keskustan kotikunta-maakuntamallia.
