Dear members of the Turku City Council,

We, the undersigned residents and supporters of Turku, respectfully present a petition in which we ask the City Council to raise the Palestinian flag in front of the Turku City Hall. This symbolic gesture would represent equal solidarity and humanitarian care, and it would express Turku's commitment to justice, peace and the dignity of all people.

This request is not a political statement, but a human gesture. The symbolism of the city's public spaces should be guided by the principles of equality, impartiality and empathy. Flags communicate our values — they should speak for everyone, not just selectively.

Raising the Palestinian flag would embody:

* Consistent solidarity with people who experience violence, occupation and displacement
* Turku's commitment to human rights across borders and communities
* Recognizing the diversity of our city, including residents of Palestinian descent

This gesture would strengthen Turku's position as a morally clear and empathetic city — one that stands on the side of human dignity and justice all over the world.

We ask the City Council to consider this appeal and take the necessary steps to raise the Palestinian flag in front of the City Hall. In this way, Turku would show that its values — equality, humanity and solidarity — know no borders.
