Oulun kansainvälistä koulua ei saa heikentää ja halvaannuttaa

Koko 12 vuotta IB-koulutusta Oulu International Schoolissa ja IB-lukiossa suorittaneena toivon todella, että lapset ja nuoret saavat jatkossakin nauttia loistavan monipuolisesta ja stimuloivasta oppimisympäristöstä. Koen ehdottomasti hyötyneeni IB:stä monin tavoin ja olen erittäin tyytyväinen eväisiin jotka sieltä olen saanut elämään. Ammattitaitoiset opettajat ja avarakatseinen ja innostava ympäristö ovat antaneet minulle paljon iloa oppimisen ohessa. Pidin IB:stä koulumuotona jopa niin paljon, että vuoden kansallista lukiota kokeiltuani vaihdoin IB-lukioon. Säästäkää koulu, tukekaa sitä! Se antaa vahvan perustan kansainväliseen elämään Suomessa ja Suomen ulkopuolella. IB antaa paljon muutakin, kuin opetussuunitelmaan kirjoitetun sisällön. Se avartaa lasten ja nuorten mieliä, se on lahja jota ei voi mitata rahassa, vaikka sitäkin koulujen olemassa olo varmasti tuo Ouluun. Kun tiedämme mistä tulemme ja olemme siitä ylpeitä, kerromme siitä maailmalla ja palaamme kotiin kehittämään lapsuuden ympäristöämme paremmaksi oppimillamme taidoilla.

I completed all of my 12 years of compulsory education in the Oulu International School and Oulu IB. I could not be more pleased and greatful of everything I received from my education. I feel like I have the best possible foundations for life in Finland and abroad. Both schools have extremely professional staff and the learning environment is openminded, inspiring and stimulating. I liked the IB so much, that I tried the Finnish highschool system for one year but swiched back to the IB because I felt the national programme did not measure up to my expectations of the challenges and possibilities to better myself.  I sincerely hope that children can keep receiving excellent education in Oulu. When we know where we come from, we will be sure to tell everyone we meet down the line. We will return home to improve and develop our home town with all the new skills we have picked up on our journeys made possible by the brilliant ground work laid down in the IB schools of Oulu. That pride and strength can not be measured by any other means, even though the benefits of these schools extend into business and other areas also.
