We are seeking expert legal, medical and professional help for a proven mould-related healths problem in a Helsinki house where the landlords (TilaKeskus who manage private rentals for Helsinki kaupunki) have delayed proper repairs and cleaning of our mould dust infested property.

The house was damaged in 2006 by running water from the ceiling (a problem with the construction) and from condensation (from mismanagement of the air circulation and heating systems by the property managers) from 2008-2012. Then a simple but wrongly performed shower renovation in 2.2014 sent a cloud of microbe-infested strongly alkaline shower cement dust particles through the house which caused serious and ongoing health problems for everyone living within.

Our landlords have professional reports proving water damage, structural faults and microbe activity and yet they have delayed cleaning our personal belongings and have not offered suitable alternative accommodation. They have even charged us full rent (except for a period where we had to rent an extra apartment to temporarily escape the nightmare symptoms caused by living in the house such as being unable to breath, see clearly or sleep properly).

Mould is a huge health and financial problem. But residents are forced to live in unhealthy conditions because of lack of legal help, funds and adequate compensation. We have lost time, money and health because of the alkaline dust & mould particles in our rented house. And probably will lose many 1000's of Euros because we will have to throw away personal property that cannot be cleaned.
